Bully Clarke!

Charles Clarke, the shove-n'-push type of politician, who happens to be Home Secretary, has a problem with tact, rudeness, and general unkindness. Maybe at home in bed sipping his cocoa he feels aggrieved that people think he is a bully, but wouldn't it be better if he thought before he offended?

Jack Dromey, the treasurer of the Labour Party knew nothing of Blair's cash raising scam (a really cheesy putdown to the very law Blair brought in to stop political financial sleeze - what a hypocrite!) and protested as much. Then Clarke weighs in, all mouth and no sense, saying Dromey has been taking his eyes off the ball. "You have to wonder how well he was doing his work", opines the tubby tormenter. When told this kind of remark is both untrue and unhelpful, Clarke repeats the insinuation. This is not an isolated case. Clarke just tends to be rude. In Norwich Cathedral, he went to give a talk, on Bishop's Day March 10th, and did not allow questions. A Canon of the cathedral, Phillip McFadyen, whose daughter was injured in the July 7th bombings in London, tried to ask the Home Secretary about holding a public inquiry. Clarke glared at him 'in a very nasty way' and snapped "Get away from me - I will not be insulted by you". The canon was left stunned by this outburst and the general tone of Clarke. Later Clarke saw the error of judgement and apologised by letter.

The problems Labour face are due to the fact that Blair's way of operating is a "ducking and diving" way. As sensible Labour Party members peel off from the syncophancy surrounding this spiv, only the diehards are left spouting supportive rubbish. Those left in the dark, out of the loop, or just not in Blair's lair, are justly suspicious of the goings-on.

Bombay? No - Mumbai! We're the BBC!

Ten politically incorrect names for the BBC to cogitate whilst they tell us about the cricket in...MUMBAI.

Bombay Hospital Journal http://www.bhj.org/

Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry http://www.bombaychamber.com/
Bombay Chartered Accountants' Society http://www.bcasonline.org/

plus Holiday Inn Bombay http://www.holidayinnbombay.com/

Any search of the internet will reveal that it is not compulsory to say Mumbai as vast numbers recognise the name of Bombay and countless Indians still say it. Why then does the BBC make out that Bombay is a place they have never heard of?

It's not our fault, we only work here!

Yet another poor sod, this time a certain Daniel Gonzalez, with delusions and mental unstableness has been allowed to fend for himself. In this case to go on a murdering spree with the thought that he is the reincarnation of Freddie Krueger. A court has seen fit to put him away in prison for murder. That is the law and we are safer for it.

However, the victims were victims because the bloody system went into its usual denial. Det Ch Insp Dave Cobb, from the detective squad, said unemployed Gonzalez wanted to be "remembered as a famous serial killer". "But I hope he is forgotten and that we only remember his victims," he added. The trouble here is that because the system is so full of people ready to blame each other for its papable failings we are likely to remember him before we remember them. Gonzalez was forgotten by the system, or shunted aside. Can't the dozy Inspector see that? The police would save a hell of a lot of time and money if they got their act together with the other agencies and actually did something about these roaming mental patients.

His mother said "Every time we asked for help for Daniel or Daniel did himself, we were told we would have to wait for a crisis to occur before he could get the help he needed." She said her son had been failed "by a system that is under funded and seems incapable of providing joined-up care over any period of time", and resolved to not "let matters rest here".

It seems to me that the insanity in all this is at the hands of the bureaucrats who know that these timebombs are likely to go off, but because their crazy methods tell them otherwise, we are all left wondering "What if?"

It is quite staggering!

Yes it is, indeed it is! What a world we live in. When Tony Blair came to power in Britain he had the music blaring "it can only get better"! Who for? Him or us?

We now hear that the Treasurer of the Labour Party no less knew nothing of the million pound loans sloshing around the coffers of the people's party. Seems Blair "arranged" the deals on the side. Is this a case of too much holidaying with his pal Silvio Berlusconi, chief mover in Italy?

I hope the Electoral Commission goes through this pack of trough guzzlers with a fine toothcomb!

Hospital meals being thrown away!

Waiting for one of 17 million meals?

More than 17 million or one in 10 meals were thrown away untouched in hospitals in England last year, data shows. This staggering fact of monumental management chaos is the latest to hit the beleagured NHS. This limp-wristed remark from a civil servant "We have to over-supply because we don't know who is going to want the chicken korma and who is going to want cauliflower cheese." What!?! - 17 Million of them! Pull the other one, I say.

This is yet another example of incompetency of today's expensively paid "managers". The Archbishop of Canterbury visited Darfur recently. Just a fraction of this wastage would have been received with open arms by this unfortunate part of the world - literally.

Are we all going to hell in a handbasket?

Beginning of the End?

It seems the past week has been a time of reckoning for New Labour and its followers. Tony Blair says God will judge him on Iraq. Absolutely! But we will all face that day for our deeds, good, bad or indifferent! Blair didn't seem to find out if his prayers led him to believe the dossier on Iraq was dodgy or not. His happy go lucky attitude on Michael Parkinson's show has opened up a whole new feeling in the country that Blair is out of touch with the reality of the daily events in the UK.

Tessa Jowell dumps her husband and seems quite at ease about it all. She smiles sweetly as if she has just perfected the best ever Victoria sponge cake! Yet New Labour has its various snouts in more financially full troughs than ever the Tories could dream of. Where are the real socialists now? Not a pipsqueak out of them! Are they so besotted with this cheesy lot or are they keeping their powder dry? Hmm!!

Having been a natural spinner of the facts to suit himself over the years, Blair now seems to have the magic coming unstuck. The NHS is £800 million adrift with the chief executive going on sick leave, or gardening leave, or whatever. The local councils are being stiffed on cash! What's new? The police are getting so politically correct that they send officers round to fuss over shopkeepers' displays. And the chief of ACPO has no real sense of public outrage over the Stockwell shooting. He can't even bring himself to say sorry. He thinks the whole thing is just dandy. We'd do it again "to safeguard the public". Well, wasn't Jean Charles de Menezes a member of the public. They got that wrong. How come they won't again if they don't learn anything?

Blair's Britain is one of spin, sleeze, and a supine state of affairs. With little over one-fifth of the electorate supporting him, we are saddled with him squandering our prosperity under a cloud of simpering platitudes.

Thank goodness David Cameron has awoken to this prospect and is breathing a bit of life back into the Tories. And Ming Campbell, with his forensic approach to the law, can add his ten cents to the pot and expose Blair's daily deceits!!

Bush Was Told of Katrina! Well, Well!

So the old saying "truth will out" has hit President Bush big time. A video tape showing Bush being warned on the eve of Hurricane Katrina that the storm could breach New Orleans' flood defences has emerged. My only problem, personally, is that I was somewhat hard a while back on the hapless Michael Brown, who was in charge of the sorry mess. Bush told him he was doing a fine job. Apparently he did, by telling Bush the truth! "We're going to need everything that we can possibly muster, not only in this state and in the region, but the nation, to respond to this event," Mr Brown says on the tape. How come Bush's memory is so crap?

They had Mardi Gras on Tuesday in New Orleans. The BBC was there, showing the fact that not many black faces were on parade. The way the African-American community in that city has been treated..........makes you want to weep! Bush said he was going to do something. When? and what will it be?

Bush's poll rating is plummeting. Only because Americans are finding out the truth. Can't the media in the USA help them? What kind of democracy is being exported to Iraq and elsewhere? A second rate kind where you have to bludgeon the truth out of weasel-wordsmiths.

I think there should be a Second American Revolution!! To set the people free again!
