Fatal shooting on nuclear submarine at Southampton Docks

The Bournemouth Echo is reporting that there was a fatal shooting on or near HMS Astute in Southampton. Four police cars, an unmarked police car and an ambulance were all seen going into the port at dock gate four. I heard about it just now from my wife. "There's been a shooting near a nuclear submarine in Southampton", she said, as I was getting coffee. "What?" I said, wondering whatever next would happen. I had thoughts of Harold Macmillan "events dear boy, events" and thought we'd had a few of those recently.

Police say they are keen to reassure the public the incident is not terrorist related. If it's not terrorist related, it may be just a sailors' tiff gone horribly wrong. Tragic.
