US troops could face execution

US army investigator Lt Col James Daniel has recommended that four American troops face the death penalty if convicted of killing three detainees during a raid in Iraq. What on earth difference will that make to the carnage, mayhem and destruction now being rent on this poor country?

The Americans should rid themselves of the "eye for an eye" justice that the New Testament deplores and show the world that their "Correctional Facilities" can re-educated and re-form the hearts and minds of these men. Punishment, yes! But let them see the error of their ways, reflect during a prison term (if guilty) and be rehabilitated.

But best of all, perhaps Bush and Blair might consider the horrendous situation that their lack of preparation, policy and general forethought has caused!
