All this news about News Corp has reminded of a weird encounter at a local summer outdoor community event (we frequently call them "fairs" as in Prince George's County Fair) some years ago. I met some people working for News Corp -- at least that is what they said. They wanted to know if I trusted News Corp. It was a serious question. That approach made me think I should not trust News Corp with anything important. Corporate controlled news is making me increasingly skeptical regarding giant corporations -- unless they have a long standing reputation for being honest and open.
