Russell Crowe gets the circumcisers riled

Russell Crowe tweeted that he thought circumcision was barbaric. Then he tweeted some more. It all ended up with tweets going back and forth with it resulting in him being branded an anti-semite. Now in the "you can't say boo to a goose" department, you could be accused of being anti-anything if you express an opinion on a controversial matter. Now he has had to apologise for saying "barbaric and stupid" in this context.

Circumcision is controversial. Most of the world is not bothered by it, but to Jews and Muslims it's part of religious practice and for many American doctors it's what makes the difference to the vacation choices (more dollar income!).

My position is perfectly clear. It's totally unnecessary and contrary to reasoned medical science. However, if adults want to do it, fine by me. It's when it is imposed on children that the issue becomes contentious. Jews have a belief about it and I would not think it appropriate to gainsay that except to say that Christianity has baptism instead. However, for American parents without any doctrinal issues, this is purely their own desire. Little boys born with foreskins are not ill, not impaired in any way or likely to be physically harmed unless there is a medical condition present. Then it is obviously correct for doctors to attempt to correct the problem. Healthy children need no surgery.

Crowe stated that circumcision can be dangerous. It can be. This little boy is dead because doctors botched things when he was circumcised. A one-week-old Ontario infant died from complications after undergoing a circumcision in a provincial hospital. And in Africa it happens quite frequently.

Russell Crowe has been lambasted but one wonders why. Surely if the males of this world are all born like this there is a purpose for it? Or are some mightier than the Almighty?

Sub-continental circumcision row!

This is a crazy world indeed. We are fighting a war in Afghanistan, euphemistically called a campaign by the government, and we are told categorically that the enemy is a terrorist organisation hell bent on exporting its beastliness to the streets of London and other western capitals.

Unfortunately, the people we are trying to help by extending democracy and civilisation as we know it do not know who the enemy is. Much debate is currently taking place on Pakistani internet forums about who is exactly who in terrorist circles. It has been "documented" that some Taliban fighters were not Muslims but Indians or other such. Uncircumcised males have been spotted in the numbers of corpses. So that concludes the Indians are up to their tricks. But hold on a minute, some people, like the Times of India are keen to point out this is not proof at all. "Pak blame fails Waziristan circumcision test!" trumpets this article. I like the term "Pak". Try using that in the Times of London! Many Waziris are so poor they can't afford to travel to a hospital or get a barber (ouch!) to do the operation for their boys.

So we don't really know who is who unless we get these Taliban types to drop their trousers! Maybe this is what General Stanley McChrystal should be doing if he wants to succeed in turning away from a "likely result in failure"?

Human Foreskins are Big Business for Cosmetics

I knew the cosmetic industry had a few skeletons in its cupboards, but this one really gets me angry. Whilst President Obama tries to get his health care reforms through Congress, the medical establishment is still racketeering. Two totally unnecessary surgical procedures are routinely carried out - circumcisions and hysterectomies - so that doctors can pocket extra dollars. Now I find there is a bizarre trade going on - a multi-million dollar rip-off!

Newborn male babies are genitally mutilated by eager surgeons who use the harvested foreskins to sell to eager cosmetic companies. Until just now I had no idea that this trade was going on. Not only is it bizarre, but it is quite evil. To decide in a blatant manner that a newborn should treated as a potential dollar earner is disgusting. Only in America? Probably not. But I hope Obama puts a stop to this racket.

SkinMedica is one company that has used so-called foreskin fibroblasts in their cosmetics. I wonder if the women who purchase these creams and potions know what they are smearing on their faces? It's amazing!

DIY circumcision man rushed to hospital!

There are some crazy people in this world and there never ceases to be new recruits to the ranks of the crazies. A young man was rushed to hospital after attempting delicate surgery on his penis using a pair of nail clippers. Can you imagine the pain. Apparently he was intoxicated. He'd need to be! One wonders what possessed him to think that such self-mutilation was a necesary thing.

The man was kept in the hospital for further observation. For his brain rather than his penis, I assume.

Another attack on God's handiwork!

Quite rightly some of the US medical fraternity are being called "obsessed" with their desire to mutilate baby boys in the name of supposed hygiene and disease control. Americans have been fed the line that circumcision is good for their newborns. The very fact that the notion was introduced to Victorian society by a medic of dubious qualities goes by the board. John Harvey Kellogg gave us cornflakes and his beliefs in circumcision. Like a lot of stiff-necked sorts he had a penchant for meddling in other peoples' lives.

He reckoned there were "excesses" in sexual behaviour, so taking a knife to a newborn's genitals was his way of stopping the "insanity of masturbation" in later life. The logic of this devilment is lost on me. Pity the man is not around to do a survey on circumcised masturbators! Of course, the whole thing is utter hogwash.

Now the quackery of the US medical establishment is rearing its ugly head again. Dr Judith Wasserheit of University of Washington demures and says, "All providers who care for pregnant women and infants have a responsibility to assure that mothers and fathers know that circumcision could help protect their sons". And provide a lucrative source of income to the scalpel weilders!

What this medical meddler does not say is that promiscuity causes sexually transmitted diseases. And if you told her that she and her pro-cutting friends could make not a dime from the operation, she'd shut up like a clam!

Cereal abuser?

Following on from my last post, I was surfing around concerning fundamental Christians and I alighted upon the entry in Wikipedia of John Harvey Kellogg, the inventor of corn flakes. One thing I always knew about Kellogg was that he came from Battle Creek, Michigan. This was because idle reading at the breakfast table told me so as it was on the carton. Idle reading has now got me thinking about Kellogg himself.

He was not just a cereal maker but a man who felt obliged to look after the moral degredation of others as he saw it. As a doctor he was more taken by the bowels and the sexual organs than mere corn flakes alone. In fact I would say that he was a tad flaky all round. He was a Seventh Day Adventist (which is how I came upon Kellogg in the surfing) but he took anything they said a step or two further.

He seemed to think that eating well and aiding your digestion kept sexual stimulation at bay. He should have met Dr Ruth! "Vat iss it viv you? You are so unhealthily obsessed, you are!" She'd have run rings round him. The medical Dr.Kellogg was obsessed. He was an advocate of sexual abstinence. He was a crusader against "self-abuse". He wrote Treatment for Self-Abuse and Its Effects. I wonder how many were traumatised by his stern lectures. He stated "A remedy for masturbation which is almost always successful in small boys is circumcision. The operation should be performed by a surgeon without administering an anesthetic, as the brief pain attending the operation will have a salutary effect upon the mind, especially if it be connected with the idea of punishment. In females, the author has found the application of pure carbolic acid [phenol] to the clitoris an excellent means of allaying the abnormal excitement."

Isn't it rich! A man who professed some belief in God purports to cause pain and suffering to God's handiwork. It never occurred to him that God thought all this out and found it to be perfect. Even today, American doctors are following his advice and coining the cash with such operations. And I doubt very much if the circumcised of America have abstained from masturbation!

Kellogg wrote another book entitled Plain Facts for Old and Young which outlined his beliefs. Hardly facts! It is apparent that those who are zealots for a cause are blind to the facts.

Kellogg was a "cereal abuser" of the facts!

Circumcision used as torture to terrorise!

What did St. Paul say? That there is neither Jew nor Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised in Christ. It makes no sense to God nor should it to us as humans.

Now we have a beautiful country in Africa that has broken down almost completely in a matter of weeks. Kenya was put forward as one of the great hopes for the African continent. For trade, commerce, education, tourism, all sorts. Then there was a disputed election and all hell let loose.

What most "Westerners" don't always appreciate is that every African country is an arbitrary piece of land. Most consist of straight lines delineating boundaries made by colonialists with no understanding of the feelings or aspirations of particular tribes. Once these countries gained independence most were governed by a dominant tribe. Kenya appears no different. In good times this doesn't matter much, but it hard times it does. Just like Yugoslavia, Iraq, Pakistan, Burma, China, where minorities have been or are being battered and butchered because they believe in something different or look a bit different.

So Kenya descends into barbarity. The BBC reports on how a town has become divided by circumcision. A local elder says "Sending students who are not circumcised is a recipe for chaos". Well, he might say it in moderate tones, but elsewhere men from the Luo tribe, who do not practice circumcision are being hunted down in order for them to be forcibly mutilated. Shouting such things as, "If we don't kill you, we'll cut your private parts".

No wonder the tourists have fled. Such behaviour is against the dignity of man, it is a form of rape and mental torture, let alone the physical harm it causes.

Let the Kenyan government come together with the opposition to sort things out. Surely they don't want their country pilloried for having satanic torture practices?
